Meet Maurizio Ferrara, better known as DJ AtHome, a seasoned DJ and producer with a discerning taste for underground club music and experimental sounds. With a career spanning back to the early nineties, Maurizio has cultivated a unique approach to DJing, blending critically adventurous surges with acutely innovative currents.
Originally from Liège, Maurizio relocated to Brussels in 1996, where he soon became a fixture in the local music scene. He launched the weekly radio show “Bis Art Shaker,” later renamed “Brussels Alternative Show,” on Radio Panik. This show, characterized by its eclectic mix of experimental music, techno, industrial, and more, was a testament to Maurizio’s diverse musical palette and adventurous spirit.
In 1999, Maurizio co-founded the Brussels-based label Pneu, where he published a range of electronic releases, including his own work as part of the group Everybody’s Jabitudiliki. Over the years, Maurizio has ventured into various musical projects, collaborating with artists such as Felix Kubin, Barbara Morgenstern, and Lem.
In 2013, Maurizio formed the duo Front De Cadeaux with Hugo Sanchez, delving into a unique style they coined as “supreme rallentato.” Their tracks have gained recognition from renowned DJs worldwide, reflecting Maurizio’s ability to push boundaries and challenge musical norms.
With an expansive view of club-based music, Maurizio has performed at prestigious venues and events across Europe, including L’Usine, Tresor, Berghain Panorama Bar, Nuits Sonores, and more. He’s also curated compilations, showcasing his deep understanding of music history and culture.
