I am Miss Bear Belgium 2023. As a non-conforming gender queer migrant living in Belgium, I’ve been on a journey to fully embrace and appreciate all aspects of my life with freedom.
Currently, I am studying social work to gain a better understanding of society and to challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone. I believe that my own experiences and the stigmas I’ve faced growing up can contribute to a more nuanced approach and understanding of human life in this world. Being part of the queer community in Brussels means a lot to me. I feel that my personality resonates with this beautiful community, and I have been making my own unique contribution to it for several years now.
Winning the title of Miss Bear Belgium 2023 has given me a platform to influence and bring diversity to the bear community in Brussels with elegance and confidence. It has also strengthened my sense of self and the responsibility to represent and be visible.
I’m also actively involved in various LGBTQIA+ initiatives in Brussels. I have volunteered with organizations such as Exaequo, where I learned about sexual health and HIV prevention, and I have been a long-time member of Maison arc-en-ciel. I also work at Timbre-poste, a place where the owner’s mission is to challenge preconceived notions about the LGBTQ+ community and create a more welcoming space. I am proud to be part of the vibrant LGBTQ+ community in Brussels and look forward to continuing my journey of advocacy, diversity, and inclusion.
Let’s work together to create a more inclusive and accepting world for everyone.
